Woot! I guess SEGA learned their lesson from the first one.

Were the american voices really that bad? I think it was just bad voice acting altogether, so lifeless. The voices themselves didn\'t bother me too much.

Does anyone know if Sega plans to have a lot more battles in Shenmue 2 than 1?

thats the best news ive heard alllllllll day.
thats gonna be awesome.....
those voices from part 1 were terrible.....however,  i must admit...that i kinda miss them now that i beat the game because i felt as if those people really existed.....
if i do the old switcheroo to japanese voices...although itll sound great....it wont feel like a sequel....oh no....i got what i wanted and now im not sure if i really do want it....
dilemmas dilemmas.....
when does this game come out?

Nah I didn\'t think the voices were that bad either. They kinda grew on me by the time I got to the end. It\'s just like you said, they were lifeless and so obvious that they were reading from a script. I would have preferred Japanese voices in the first one though.

Thats what I like.

I also agree that it won\'t feel the same without the crappy voice actors. It also wouldn\'t feel the same with different voice actors.

I really don\'t understand why people want the japanese voices. It get\'s really annoying just whatching them talk in the Final Fantasy X movies on the net!

I know the feeling. I got so involved with the characters in the first one, that now it will feel different. I thought Ryo was one of the few that actually sounded pretty good (for the most part). It\'s not gonna be the same, but it\'s SEGA\'s fault for not using Japanese voices to begin with. Seeing how the game took place in Japan, it would have created an even more realistic experience had everyone been talking Japanese.

I loved most of the voices in Shenmue. I even liked the voice acting. Especially Ryo and Nozomi and even Chai. :laughing:

the only voices that really bothered me were that of the little girl with the cat and Fuku son or whatever his name was.
