When is the Geforce 3 coming out ? please help

I was wondering if i should get the Geforce3 or just wait for the Geforce3 ultra...but i dont when the Ultra is coming out...can someone please tell me to make my decison...and also please give me what you suggest i should do....or should i even wait for the Radeon 8500.....thanks for the help.

Nvidia will be releasing a newer version of the GeForce 3 in about 6 weeks (or so I hear). An Nvidia employee told a hardware site (don\'t remember which one) that they will be using the same naming system as the GeForce 2, so expect a GeForce 3 Ultra to appear on store shelves sometime within the next few months (in time for Christmas :nerd: ).

The Radeon 8500 has better specs on paper, but ATi doesn\'t exacly have a glowing history when it comes to driver support. Where as NVidia is constantly working on and revising their drivers (in an article I saw on the internet it showed rows and rows of super-computers lining the walls of NVidia\'s headquarters, all benchmarking and testing their new drivers).

Do what you want, but IMO that GF3 Ultra is looking mighty fine (not that the Radeon 8500 isn\'t).

well i figure that since games arent even close to using the geforces full potential yet that i went ahead and got it - i am suppost to pick up my system tomorrow - its gonna be sweet - but yea anyway i figure by the time this card is worthless i will be able to get a better geforce3 version for cheap anyway- especially since geforce3 is going down in price right now i got mine for 275 bucks

Well to most people\'s surprise the rumor is that ATi\'s new RAdeon 8500 drivers are supposed to be quite nice.

That would be a welcome change for them, because of crappy driver support the Radeon didn\'t sell as much as they had hoped it would, let\'s just hope the rumor\'s are true and they have gotten their act together.
