gRAPHICS OVER GAMEPLAY?

I mean graphics arE important. But would you want awesome grahics and bland gameplay or awesome gameplay and bland graphics? I think you have to have them both.

I mean if graphics don\'t matter lets all break out the atari2600 and and nes. I don\'t see how you can say I don\'t really pay attention to graphics in games. I mean you have too.

But I think if a game has excellent gameplay then it can get away with bland graphics. But with the genration we are living in we should have better graphics in games.

I think with great graphics  ok gameplay and replay value you can get away just fine. I mean there has to be some median but I don\'t see how anyone can say I don\'t care about the graphics.
I mean what if all games had unbelievable gameplay but looked like snes games? You have to have good graphics.

I agree, there has to be a good mix of graphics and game play or else people will either complain about the graphics or lame game play. I think if developers turn out graphically equivalent games to DMC+MGS2, and good game play, I think it will be a pleasure to own a PS2 for the next 3 years. ;)
I think only good things will come from the PS2 next year, (hope I don’t have to eat crow next year lol)

I prefer gameplay over graphics but graphics are important. I like the NES, the graphics looked like crap but it was fun.

Actually, I still have a NES hooked up to one of my TV\'s as well as a TI 99/4A and a Genesis/SegaCD/32x. My rom collection is huge and spans several systems. Not to mention my collection of old PC games which take up over 2 1/2 gig of space on my second HDD.  (Which is quite a lot of games considering most all of them are only about from 14k to 15 meg in size) EGA, VGA, CGA, Monochrome, or no graphix at all... it dosen\'t matter to me. A good game is a good game despite the graphics and I still play them on a daily basis.

Yes, eye poping visuals are nice.. but without substance to keep you entertained you might just be better off watching Shrek or FF:TSW.

Thank you SonyFan. :)  That is exactly the same way I feel about graphics in video games.
