Just wait until it\'s released on DVD this October.  That is when it will make the most money.

That was not a "Final Fantasy Movie" in my opinion.  There was no magic in the film and I think that Magic & Summoning and Not Knowing the whole story right away is what Final Fantasy is all about.

Movies don\'t make big money on the DVD release. The money comes from people sitting their asses in the theater to watch the films. Why do you think they re-released Spy Kids in the theaters instead of putting the extras on a DVD only?

I\'ll use a different example.  Lets look at The Fight Club.  Its theater sales were as bad as FF:TSW.  But when it was released on DVD, the money started pouring in.  I think a similar thing will happen with FF:TSW.  But of course, this is just pure speculation.

Obviously making it in theaters wil garnish you mega bucks. But DVD and VHS sales bring in MORE than a fair share of money.

Another example, Titan A.E. This movie did very poorly in theaters. Yet on DVD/VHS, it made back all its money, and then some. Of coarse, being in the same boat as Square, Fox Animation Studios did close before the release of the DVD (so, while in the long run it helped, short run...didn\'t save Fox Animation).
Opinions are not important.

Good news for DVD lovers, and even better news for Square.  Check out this review of FF:TSW DVD:  http://www.dvdtown.com/reviewspec.asp?reviewid=838

(Before I begin with my review proper, let me direct your attention to my ratings for "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" and its DVD version--across the board "tens." This is the first time that I’m awarding a DVD perfect marks in every category. While I hope that I’ll run into other DVD experiences every bit as enjoyable as this one, I suspect that it’ll be at least a couple of months before I get my hands on a DVD set as wondrous as this one.)

The review is very detailed and professional.  I recomment that you read it.

If you are wondering about the special edition PS2-only version, that has been delayed.  Square is going to wait and see how this version sells before they consider making that version.
