Sonic Booms over Chicago Suburbs! Very Scary

i dont now if who all has heard about this but at 3:00 chicago time two explosions were heard in the northwest suburbs i was home at the time and had no idea what happened i live 2 miles from a large chemical plant and thought that had exploded but looking outside along with all of my neighbors i didnt see anything unusual then i thought it may have be a small earthquake extremlly rare for our area but it rattled my entire house twice then i thought it was very loud thunder but there wasnt a dark cloud in the sky then i thought living only 30 miles from chicago maybe something happened there but all the chicago tv stations were unaffected it wasnt untill a half an hour of sitting in my living room completely confused that something came on the news explaining what happened:

a mentally dreranged young man on a flight from la to chicago freaked out thinking the plane was about to crash into the sears tower burst into the ****pit his was then knocked on the floor by the capitan causing the plane to dive slightly the man was then subdued by passengers the capital called a emergecy which caused the government to scamble 2 f-14 fighters from who knows where to escort the plane to chicago the sonic boom was the fighters breaking the sound barrier in an attempt to catch up with the plane it landed safely and no one was injured(feel better soon no-one )
there something cool and unsettling about having fighter jets break the sound barrier over your house

yeah dude, my mom was flippin out.

I heard about that on the radio when I was driving home.  We hear somnic booms over our house every time the shuttle lands.  It\'s incredible.  You get so use to it that it doesn\'t phase you a bit.  Not too many shuttles landing in Chicago though.


I was thinking yesterday that in this country when we see jets flying over head, we think, "Wow, that is so awesome."

Imagine being in a country that doesn\'t have jets knowing the only reason they are over head is because they have a package to deliver...

BTW..I didnt hear a peep yesterday..I did hear about the lunatic on the radio when I was driving around tho. Paranoid ppl. these days..but at the same time..I really can\'t blame the guy. I guess he didnt take his medication

A few years ago the military had a training around Kalmar airport.
So they had JAS 39 Gripens flying over doing sonic-booms all the time..

It was pretty cool watching the military take over the airport.. (Small airport.. 2 runways)

No, I live in a cave in Afghanistan.  I\'ve been hearing booms for a couple days now.....



Actually I live in Tampa, FL and we get the booms from the shutle because we are pretty much do west from the Cape where they land.

im from McHenry in the far northwest suburbs
people in or near the city didnt hear cause its just overall louder there and cause they flew directly over our area from wisconsin i think

luke is on the border in wisconsin by kenosha, and falcon 4 is from the west side or the west suburbs i cant remember

I watched a jet break the sound barrier on my comp once. It was freaking awesome, there was a peferct grey cone of smokey gas.

you arent the only one..but I dont think much will happen here since everyone is on higher security level...but even then..things slip through the cracks.
