im am getting so frustrated with my ps2 and i need some help, ok here goes

well i don\'t know about three days ago my ps2 was acting up and every time i tried to play madden 2002 it wouldn\'t load the game and when i went to browse is always ended up saying disk read error but then just tonight my brother rented a game. that did not work either but then i did it just to see if it was some scraches on the disk, but this time it work, it played the game. then i tried all my other games. i noticed that my ps2 wasn\'t play any of the disk that had a blue bottom on it, but it played all the silver ones, oh god someone please help me i have no clue what to do and i really don\'t wanna by a new ps2.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

1. The blue ones are CDs the silver ones are DVDs.
2. I would send it to SONY, if you write a letter with it and tell them how sad you are, they may be fix it for less... how old is your PS2 ? You have a warranty !

i got it last january but i have no warrenty, should i just take it to a repair shop and get it fixed?

Try a CD/DVD lense cleaner.

Careful though; it could possibly damage the lense.

I had  a similar problem a few months ago, used a cleaner (cost me $14 CDN) and have had 0 problems since. Good Luck...

i\'m gonna have to try whatever i can cause i don\'t have an extra $300 lying around the house, this is good i need alot of segestions  

hey does anyone know it GTA3 is CD or DVD?

Maybe he damaged them!!

There shouldnt be a problem with the new once.. (Launch ones=Crap)

I\'m on my second and in need of a third.  The first one was screwed from early on, the second one just wouldn\'t play certain DVD\'s at all.  The other day once I finally had the marvel that is ICO in hand I was itchin\' to play and so I put the thing in, sat back and waited...

...and waited...

...and waited...

I was understandably pissed when it kicked up the Disc Read Error message.  I was very pissed.  I stood the thing on end, blew into the front and back vents with a can of compressed air, set it back down on the table, then smacked it hard.

It started playing ICO and I\'ve had other games in since.  Mine\'s still under warranty so I knew that if I hit it too hard and screwed it up but good I could still get it replaced, bought the ext. warranty at Best Buy.

In other words, since yours is out of warranty I don\'t exactly recommend this, it could make things worse.  But it did work for me, though I have no idea why.  I wonder if something wasn\'t partially obstructing something else and by hitting it I dislodged it, who knows?

Last resort measures anyway...

yeah im starting to get extremly pissed off!! i bought a disk cleaner pop it in and did nothing! that made me even more pissed! and im about to smack the damn thinng, im getting down to my last resort...wish me luck
