Regarding Office XP
« on: October 16, 2001, 04:50:20 PM »
Let me say first that I do not own Office XP... That is why I posted this thread because I have a few questions.

Okay - the Windows XP Activation I do not like, but I can live with I guess.  I do have some questions about  the Office XP activation though...

Okay - so if I decide to shell out 300 dollars for Windows XP for one of my computers fine...  that is because when I buy new pcs XP will be pre-installed, although it would be with the OEM version which would kind of suck, but the OEM versions of XP don\'t have limitations on hardware changes.

Here\'s my question to M$.

I buy Windows XP and Office XP for one of my computers.  GREAT!
but what happens when I buy new pcs - Windows XP would come installed, but what happens to my copy of Office XP?  Do I have to dispose of the copy which cost $470 and buy another copy?  Sounds retarded to me...

Windows XP is very nice.  Office XP is very nice.  Are they worth the money...  Ummmmm.......

This is going to drive common people to get the crack to open the program for multiple computers.  People that wouldn\'t normally even think of doing that.

As far as office goes, I have seen nothing on it that limits it to one computer.

Videoholic-

i would be grateful if you could confirm that i can install office xp on multiple boxes.

i have heard that you are allowed two installs, but more than that i don\'t know for sure.

i will try to find the answer in the meantime...

thanks.

Here is another good site.  I have it on two computers, but then again, well, let\'s just say I got it at a bargain rate discount.
