I am on mission 16 of Dante Must Die mode.  I had to use just about all of my items to kill that stupid bird though in mission 15.  It took about 8 Holy Waters and my invincible star!  Now I am stuck on Nightmare (the blob monster) in mission 16 without any items (but on the bright side I have 21 yellow orbs :)).

I am planning on passing it tomorrow so I can get the unlimited devil form.  Then I\'ll get an S on every mission to unlock some other thing (I\'m not really sure what it is though. :))

My impressions of Dante Must Die mode:
For the most part, it is actually quite easy.  Maybe it\'s because I have just gotten a lot better, but most of it doesn\'t seem that challenging anymore.  The notable differences are:
1.  There are more guys.
2.  Each guy takes off way too much!!  A normal puppet that jumps on you and stabs you takes off from 50%-80% of your life bar!
3.  The guys can turn into devil form themselves.  If you take too long to beat a group of guys, they will usually turn into devil form and be very hard to kill.  They will have red electricity flickering around them.  Like you when in Devil form, they hurt you a lot more, they are very hard to juggle or knock back, and they seem to have way more hit points (unlike you in devil form).
4.  A lot of the guys are a lot faster, and they do their projectile moves a lot more.

And the thing that really makes this DMD mode:
5.  The stupid bosses!  They have so many hit points, and they take off too much of your life with every hit (one hit from the Knight\'s sword takes off up to a full lifebar!).

The bosses are extremely hard, but the normal guys don\'t seem too hard even with all the upgrades they got (except for the devil form.  But you can usually kill them before they morph.)

The weirdest thing is that I\'ve got more S and A rankings in this game than any other time through.  Once I\'m done with this, I\'ll go back to normal to get an S rank in all the missions with ease. :)

So far I\'ve played for over 35 hours easily.  The game time is around 21 hours, but that does not include the tons of times I restarted at a save point.

So how far are you?  Have you given up yet, or are you still fighting strong?  How long have you been playing?  This game is the funnest game I\'ve played in the last couple of years.  I wonder if any game this year will be able to compete (MGS2, BG: DA, CvsSNK2, Jak&Daxter, FFX, and maybe even GTA3 and THPS3 [eventually :)]).  I don\'t know if any of those can knock DMC out of the number one spot (in my mind), but we will see. :)

First time thru on normal I beat it in just over 8 hours.A little less on hard mode, but then I took it back to EB.I just could\'nt stand those camera angles.I  can\'t understand why capcom decided to go with the R.E. style cameras on such an action based game.
I swear this post is not spam!!!!Listen,if this post was spam, would I do this? [spreads mayonaise over bread]

Are you saying you would rather have completely controllable cameras?  That would be awful IMO.  Just imagine having to control the camera and battle the enemies at the same time.  Yes, the camera does need a lot of work, but I don\'t think they should be controllable.  If they made it so it didn\'t jump around so much it would be tons better.  And if they made it have every monster on the screen at once instead of having monsters just outside of the camera\'s view, it would be better too.  Another thing that it needs is a first person view like in MGS2.  That would be nice when you\'re trying to find secrets and stuff.  Hopefully they will fix this in DMC2.

GTA3 kills DMC imo in terms of playability, replay value, length, and just overall fun.  I\'ve spent way more time with GTA3 then I have with nearly any other game this generation with only two exceptions: The MGS2 demo and Capcom Vs SNK.

Also, yes, the camera angles are bad and the reason why is because of the more difficult bosses.  People had so much trouble with the spider boss and the main reason why was because of the shoddy camera angles.  When a particular style starts to detract from the gameplay, that\'s when it\'s time to say goodbye.  Although, I know you didn\'t have any issues with the angles Ironfist, but people like you and I are much more tolerable with these little things then most, but the majority still say that the camera angles are utter nonsense.

Personally, even if it meant some mundane camera control, I still would want the ability to control it just to measure distances and to see what\'s far in front of me.  The game has already shown that you can go into first person view on more then one occasion so why not add in the ability permanantly?  God knows there\'s already enough buttons on the PS2 controller for it, even if it meant using the R3 button.
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

Well for me the bosses were the only time that the camera was really an obstacle. It seemed like every time I was fighting a boss I would get stuck behind them with no idea wich way I was facing. But also I feel that a third person over the shoulder view was really what this kind of game needs.A contollable camera would have been nice at some points as well( ala  tomb raider).

I like the camera angles for making the game look cinematic.

Yeah, the tilted cameras are an awesome effect.  If the cameras didn\'t jump around so much, they would be a lot better though.
