Help the lazy one with web design stuff
« on: December 02, 2001, 08:06:35 AM »
Good evening :)

I\'m sure if I tried hard enough I could find these things on the net. But well.... I am lazy.

I was wondering if one of you could/would like to/knew how to help.

See, I want the scroll bar on the right to be of a certain color on my pages. Dull gray is just so..... dull. And it doesn\'t seem to fit (my pages are black/purple). I know this is possible cause I\'ve seen it before on some pages.

So u html experts, help please :)

Do not fear, for Hawky\'s here ;)

You\'ll have to use a bit of CSS here, and the results are only visible in IE5.5 (and above, obviously). Gotta update my browser so I can enjoy your pages as they\'re meant to...

For example, to get a purple scrollbar with pink arrows (don\'t know why you\'d want that, but anyways, just an example), use :

I recommend using web-safe hexadecimal values for the colors, but it works either way in IE. Playing around with the different attributes and colours gives you a lot of freedom to customize the bar to your needs.

Hope that helps... if not, wait till next weekend and we can work it out together :)

Thank you thank you :)

I knew you\'d be able to help, I just thought it would have been difficult to help me on the phone or something :)

Problem sorted out, pretty web pages, here I come!
