Favourite Gaming Moments?
« on: December 09, 2001, 09:37:39 PM »
I saw this done on another board and thought it would be cool to bring it here. I know this question has been asked here before too but there is alot of new members and I forget most peoples answers anyways.

I will start with mine. I used to play alot of starcraft broodwars and when I first started playing the game I joined the "Ladder system" (basically just a ranking system for the more serious players). I was fighting a fairly high ranked player who didn\'t really want to play me because my rank was to low and said I would be a push over. He finally came around and the game began, he was Zerg and I was Protoss he almost killed me like 20 different times and to make a long story short I came back from the brink of defeat and whiped out all his buildings and won. He said as he knew he was dead "Jesus man you just didn\'t die"

That was so rewarding for me because normally I would have just given up in some situations that seemed impossible to stay alive in but this time I decided to fight like the irishman I am and I finally beat the bastard :)

So lets hear some of your guys favourite or most rewarding gaming moments.
We love you Dr.Sayus.

Favourite Gaming Moments?

I want to start out by saying I hate protoss for the same reason, they just won\'t die!  They are the ultimate defensive camper race.  When I used to play, I played as Zerg about 70% of the time, Terran 25%, and Protoss the other 5%.

Anyways, one of my favorite gaming moments happened a couple years ago with my favorite game, Tekken 3.  I posted this a couple years ago, but I\'ll post it again.

It all started out pretty normal.  My brother and I were Tekken 3.  We usually would only play around 50 or 100 games (100 games only in extreme cases) before one of us had to quit, but this day was different.  None of us had to do anything that day.  So we kept on playing.  To make a long story short (about 4 1/2 hours long ;)), we got to game 200.  My brother had 99 wins, I had 99 wins, and we had one draw.  We obviously made this game the championship match for the title of "Champion of the Universe" or something like that. ;)

He was playing as Law, and I was playing as Yoshimitsu.  This was really the ultimate battle because he was using his favorite and most used character, and I was using my favorite and most used character.  We started round one, and I got wasted.  I mean, I got completely annihated.  Round two started, and it was more of the same.  I kept on getting into his air combos and stuff, and I was starting to lose hope.  I ended up doing a desperation move, b,b+1 (Yoshi\'s sword stab move).  To my surprise, it was a direct hit putting me right back into the game.  I ended up winning that round.  Round three started.  The pressure was on.  We were neck and neck the whole way through.  It ended up being the next person to get hit by the other person would lose, and I\'m the one who hit him. :)

After about 5 minutes of gloating being the only person in our family who has ever won 100 games, and the person who won the 200th match, and being the winner of that 4 hour long Tekken playing, and the person who won with Yoshimitsu against his Law (this was a huge thing for us.  It is like our Ryu vs Ken or Ken vs Ken in street fighter matches :)), I was like, "Well, that was fun." :)
