Nintendo sales and some BS.

According to the press release, Super Smash Bros. Melee has sold 250,000 copies in nine days. Nintendo believes that this makes it the best-selling game for any video game console launched this year.

edit: My thorough reading ability has faltered. Any console launched this year, forget my following statement...

They can believe all they want, cause I\'m sure GT3 / MGS2 / THPS3 / sold more than that in the same time frame.

"Nintendo believes that this makes it the best-selling game for any video game console launched this year."

Nintendo may very well be right. Though I don\'t know the actual figures for any of the Xboxs games, SSB:M could very well have topped sales for the highly anticipated Halo and Munch. Of course, we\'re only talking about NGC vs. the Xbox since the PS2 was launched last year and thus negates all the sales for it\'s games in this compairison.

I\'ve said it before, and I\'ll say it again. Nintendo may not lie.. but that dosen\'t mean they\'re entirely honest either. I wonder how many fanboy wars this lil slip has started?

And be careful still, they didn\'t say \'best\' selling, they said \'fastest\' selling.

But that\'s not the point.  The point of the press release was to go, "Uhh.. Hey Bill, we\'re uhh... making some money, too."

Then investors go, "Ooh!"
