We warned them, and we did not attack without provocation. There\'s a difference. All we asked for was Osama and the top brass of Al~Queda.. nothing else. Mullah Omar would not turn them over, and we said we\'d do whatever it takes to get him.. even if that meant toppling the Taliban. Civilian casualties are an unfortunate part of war, and there\'s really no way to avoid it. Even our own troops aren\'t guanteed protection from friendly fire, as we have so painfully learned.
If our military had absolutely no care about the welfare of the people living in Afghanistan, you\'d know it. You think the current rate of bombing victims is high, then you should see what kind of havoc we COULD raise if we wanted to. I guantee that we could have just done a clean sweep of that country and not left even a single tree standing.. it would have been EASIER to do it that way. But no, civilians are not our military\'s targets.. and I think the thousands upon thousands of pounds of food rations/blankets/medical supplies that we\'ve dropped go to help prove that point.
IMO, you\'ve just been suckered in by a sob story.. nothing else.
BTW: David Duke is full of ****, and I\'d say his anti-Israili sentements border on hate propoganda. I personally, agree with many of the things Arafat says.. but the truth of the matter is that they are BOTH terrorists that are fighting each other. America only sides with Israil because they\'re a stronger force in the middle east through which we can channel our motivations than Palestine is.
That whole page is chock full of them, but I love this quote..
"We have warned against recklessly involving America in the many wars and blood feuds around the world. We beseeched the American people to follow the advice of the father our country. In his farewell address, George Washington warned us against foreign entanglements." - David Duke
I believe WWI and WWII proved without a shadow of a doubt that America cannot simply sit by while the world which we depend on for imports/exports simply goes to pot... not to mention the fact that as much as I hate Pres. Bush, I would much rather be supporting him than hailing Mein furher right now.
The only thing he did get right, is that we need to change to our middle eastern policies. However to take Military force completely out of the picture is not the answer. That will make us appear weak, and give the impression that all they have to do is bomb a few of our buildings to get some changes made. That\'s letting them win. Economic and forign aid embargos don\'t work either, ala Iraq and Cuba. (When is that old bastard Castro gonna kick the bucket anyway???)
