I wonder how long this game will be fun.

GTA3 didn\'t hold my interest for long, I doubt this will.  It looks good though (graphics-wise).

It\'s those particular pics.  I\'ve watched movies and seen lots of other pics that show a very good draw distence.

Some of those are replay pics too and the replay applies all kinds of filters to the images for effect.

Like I said the game has some great graphics, but it\'s the gameplay and longevity that concerns me.

The screens with blurry grounds are the replay ones. The ingame screens are clear.

Here\'s a preview on wreckless: =)   rastalant, I can\'t wait to pick this game up!!!!

"Fast cars, great action, and mind-blowing graphics. That\'s what Activision and Bunkasha\'s upcoming action-oriented car game Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions promises to deliver when it\'s released next month. We recently got to spend some time playing three of the game\'s levels, and what we saw definitely left us impatient to get our hands on a full version of the game.

Like all good action stories, Wreckless is set in Hong Kong. It seems that the nefarious crime syndicate known as the Yakuza are running amok, and it\'s up to you to put an end to their shenanigans. The game is divided into two storylines, with each featuring ten missions. The first story casts you as a member of an elite anti-Yakuza squad working to destroy the Yakuza, and the second has you playing as a secret government agent working to uncover ties between Yakuza and the police.

While the story isn\'t exactly the most original I\'ve seen, the implementation of the story looks very interesting. Since you play behind the wheel of a car -- there will be 14 playable vehicles in the final version of the game -- Wreckless\' story unfolds as you race through the roads and alleyways of Hong Kong. Some of the missions will have you rescuing a trapped police captain, destroying Yakuza cars fleeing the scene of the crime, or clearing a path for a bus that\'s been rigged with a bomb. (That\'s one mission I can\'t wait to try out.)

The three levels that we were able to play showed off a nice range of what the final version of the game should offer. The first mission has you saving an armored car from Yakuza scum (you destroy enemy vehicles by ramming into them) as all parties involved race through the streets of Hong Kong.

The second level is a competition where you have to destroy more illegal dim sum stands than another person on the force. (The authorities think this kind of thing makes for good competition.) You get a specific amount of points per dim sum stand destroyed, and the first one to 100 points wins. This level, in particular, really shows off Wreckless\' amazing graphical prowess.

The degree of detail present in the buildings, cars, and other structures is simply mind blowing. Real-time lighting reflects perfectly off of metal surfaces, and Bunkasha has implemented a blurring effect that really helps enhance the sense of speed and heat. In addition, since the environments are destructible, if you ram into a structure you can take it out, which means that the streets will be littered with debris. (In fact, in order to find many of the game\'s shortcuts you\'ll have to probe around with the front end of your car.)

Offering a different style of play, the third playable level is essentially a demolition derby… to the death. You\'ve been trapped and several Yakuza cars are hell bent on taking you out. Of the three levels we played, this was the least impressive in terms of design, but it was still a lot of fun to play.

In addition to the amazing graphics and promising mission structure, Wreckless also looks to feature realistic physics. Cars are deformed in real-time and pieces of shattered vehicles will fly away from the point of impact. The controls are extremely easy to learn, and once you have them down, navigating through the narrow streets shouldn\'t present any substantial problems.

The icing on the cake is the game\'s replay mode, where you can watch a recording of your actions. Instead of just offering a standard replay, though, Wreckless\' replay continually shifts the angles, focus, and even color, creating a truly unique experience.

Without a doubt, Wreckless\' amazing graphics are getting the most attention, but beneath the shiny veneer lies what should be an extremely fun game. We\'ll know for sure if Bunkasha was able to pull everything together when Wreckless is released in February.
