I don\'t think why the downloadable crap would ever do any good to someone.. Do you have any idea how many ppl are out there who don\'t even have a modem, let alone broadband??

MOST of the European countries do not even have broadband connections for private use (only corporate) and even if they do, they are selling them at ridiculously high prices. So your 40MB is A HELL OF A BIG download for me, and imagine that I\'m in england so the phone lines are ok, what about places like Slovenia, Yugoslavia, the whole Africa continent, even ASIA (apart from Japan/china/Hong Kong etc).

THIS WILL FAIL as sega failed completely with the Online CRAP that the Dreamcast was supposed to offer.

We still need a good 6-7 years for broadband to rule the internet world so that the downloadable packages would be feasible. And you seriously think that the companies will put a lot of effort for something that they will let ppl download for FREE???

Nahhhhh, there\'s nothing like free lunch they said, so it simply won\'t happen. They ARE gonna charge you for ANYTHING thats worth it, and if they don\'t its not gonna be worth charging. And if its not, why should I download it??? Just to have another car in Gran Turismo?? So what?

All in all, the PS3 better be standard PS2/XBOX *******GAMING****** console with no downloadable packages and all.

I would really LOVE to see all those internet freaks out there get a game full of BUGS and having to download a patch, on a saturday night with all the mates around and the webpage would say "sorry mate, the server is full, please try later!"

In any case, if the PS3 does become like the PC games where you have to download 1000 patches before you can actually play the game (oh, and by the way the saved games are NOT compatible with the upgraded version some times) I simply won\'t buy it. But thats just me! :)

Agree... for example here in Italy someone is starting to cable towns like Milano. And the price for this service is too high.

But if the price for a broadband connection will be low, who can
say what the gaming_supercomputer access will cost?

Like every big corporation they will free it at starting. When
a good number of people have buy a box (that will do great game only connnected) they will raize the prize.

How much an American pay for a 10Mb connection?
Here will be like 60$ every month. (i hope).

Here you can get 10MBit for $23.. (Dont know if they are going to raise the cost when they upgrade to 100Mbit)

My brothers friend pays $17 for 100Mbit.. Its a small ISP.. Pretty stable connection. :)

I pay $33 for 0.5Mbit.. But then I have Swedens most sucky ISP.
