BAM! Entertainment is gearing up for the American release of their latest PlayStation 2 title, World Rally Championship. Expected to hit retailers later this week, the game was originally developed by UK-based Evolution Studios. Based on the popular sport of off-road rally racing, the game features more than 100 tracks and vehicles from several auto manufacturers including Subaru, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Hyundai, and Citroen amongst others. Below are a handful of screens from the finished version.

How can you even compare it to GT3?
The GT3 rally mode is shallow. Although it has to be said that WRC ain\'t no CMR, it\'s still more fun than the incredibly boring GT3 rally mode.

What?! I think it looks very impressive, the textures look nice, especially on the first and second pictures. The second screenshot looks really good, like its been taken from the TV

The graphics are great but the game is just too easy. When I bought it I started on the Professional mode and still managed to get first place in every race. There was no point in playing it after about 2 days. I ended up taking the game back and swapping it for something more challenging.

It\'s no wonder they\'re hyping WRC2. These shots are not bad but nothing to drool over either. If half of their recent boasting is true, me thinks Evolution Studios will do much better in the next version. At least the stills are in game, in motion is bound to look cleaner.
