This is wild news. Maybe I was wrong in saying that Sega prefers the Xbox..

One minute they\'re announcing 12 titles for Xbox.. the next, they\'re working on Nintendo\'s coveted franchises.

Yowzah!

N-Sider has managed to dig up some extra details regarding the new GameCube and Triforce chapters of F-Zero.

  • F-Zero AC and F-Zero GC will be co-developed at Nintendo EAD and Amuzement Visions Ltd. Nintendo will be involved in the art, music, and design department. Amuzement Visions will be responsible for programming the title.
  • F-Zero creators Shigeru Miyamoto, Takaya Imamura, and Isshin Shimizu will be involved on behalf of Nintendo Company Limited. Shigeru Miyamoto will act as Producer, Takaya Imamura in the art and design department, Isshi Shimizu in the modeling and design department. (No word on F-Zero X creator Tadashi Sugiyama\'s involvement).
  • Arcade and Console versions will feature a few set of exclusive tracks distinguishing themselves apart
  • Launch or Near-Launch Triforce Title

N-Sider has also learned Takaya Imamura will be creating a new set of characters for the new F-Zero, but fear not.. there will be plenty of returning favorites like Captain Falcon and Samurai Goro. Early rumors suggest the game will have more than 30 vehicles-pilots breaking F-Zero X\'s record. Interestingly enough, Miyamoto approached Amuzement Vision\'s Nagoshi because he felt Super Monkey Ball had a very similar design approach to the F-Zero X team.

Commen Sense?
Since when?
They completly ignore the ps2, only orignail titles its seen, VF4 and Space Channel Part 2..
wow, xbox has seen countless original titles, and so has the NGC

Plus, there are no new original titles planned, certainly makes then full of commen sense.

Cause, remember their Platform agnostic crap, which turned out to be false, and their 50% of their games would be ps2 games.. which is turning out to be false.. sega is just full of crap

Yeah, I always loved the Fzero games, great for multiplayer....  I hope that nintendo keeps the quality up, by watching sega every step of the way -> even if they don\'t like that.  ;)

This is pretty much what Sega is more capible of accomplishing. They have so much talent in the software department, verses their hardware department. They are a pioneer of making AAA games (Some are duds, mind you).

One thing Sega must not do is do a remake of Banjo/Kazooie  Their voice acting is attrocious *Flash backs to the Sonic Adventure series*

Well, now we know that Amusement Vision is only programming F-Zero and not designing it.. not as big a deal now.

But still, many people have been waiting for an announcement like this. This is one big reasons why Sega isn\'t dropping the Triforce in favor of the Xbox-powered arcade hardware. I doubt that the Xbox arcade machine will have a port for memory cards.. and also, Microsoft\'s franchises don\'t have the pull of Nintendo\'s.

This has me excited for a couple reasons.

Firstly, Nintendo and Sega are seriously working hand-in-hand with this one.  It\'s great to see Nintendo actually living up to its word and going after third parties.

Then you have the simple announcement of another F-Zero game.  I loved the first three (SNES, GBA, N64) and I\'m sure this one (two) will be no different. :)

Not only that but I\'d say F-Zero is one of Nintendo\'s more "mature" franchises and as we get ready for F-Zero, 1080 Snowboarding 2, Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness, and Metroid Prime (just to name the big ones) it seems that Nintendo is living up to some of those claims, as well.

This should be extremely  interesting. If Sega truly works hand and hand with Nintendo on some of their most coveted franchises, then we could see a lot of more interesting titles down the road (maybe pave the way for Sonic to be in SSBM sequel?!?).

As for Chrono, you\'re alittle bitter, aren\'t you? ;)
