Yes, indeedy. Atari did it back in the golden days of gaming, so Sony didn\'t bring any evolution to gaming by offering that in the PS2.

As for this whole topic. I need to say one thing... Idiotic. .
If you are willing to wait for the PS3 , which is at least another two years off, then I am positive that you don\'t really even want to play games and by the time the PS3 does come out, you will have either lost complete interest in buying one or you will be wondering if you should wait for a PS4 or whatever Sony ends up calling it.

ps3 dude is coming out in 2004 dont worry it wont be 2008 or 2009 sony even announced it in 2004 but get ps2 it is great

You are wrong for a multiple of reasons starting with the fact you have no credible links to your information

there\'s no way Sony would kill themselves financially by rushing out another console when they haven\'t maximized profits from the PS2

the PS2 is sellign way to good for Sony to feel they have to rlease another machine in 2004

We all knows that the PS50 will be coming out in the year 2050. So save your money now and don\'t buy any of the PS2 to PS49.

So when your\'re nearly in your grave, you will have your last laugh and play your PS50 for 1 minute before you kick the bucket and they close the coffin with your PS50 in it....and you save about (47 X 300 dollars for each gen of console).

Ddaryl is right. Another reason is that the CELL CPU which is confirmed (I think?) to be the new chip for PS3 will be finished in that year and won\'t be able to go into mass production because of a few reasons, such as costs and time.

PS3 will most likely be out the earliest in 2005, yet I think March 2006 is much more likely. I doubt it will be much later also, since Microsoft and Nintendo will be out with something aswell.
