some guys in here should remember back when screens of Jak and Daxter were released... anyway, even if this game does not turn into that graphical masterpeace - who cares? I don\'t - as long as it plays like Mario and the gameplay is top stuff it will be a treat IMO.

If it has good gameplay, which I\'m sure it will, graphics mean nothing.  If graphics were all that mattered, I wouldn\'t still play my SNES, Genesis, and NES.

The textures do look pretty crappy.. but it\'s not bad in motion. There\'s a LOT of other graphical nuances that you just don\'t see from the pics.. like the EXCELLENT reflections and character/envrioment interaction. Mario actually gets all muddy when you take him tromping though mudpuddles and stuff.

I\'m not a Mario fan tho. Sonic is much more my style.

Screenshots never do justice. I\'ve seen this game in action, and it flows very well. Its just beautiful. I bet it will be one of the best platformers of 2002.

I\'m not sure this is going to be that great.

N was running out of ideas when the SNES died.  Thankfully 3D came and they were able to use their ideas in a 3d world and it turned out pretty damn good.

Now it\'s been what?  6/7 years and there\'s been a lot of great 3d platformers since.  They\'ve gone stale.

The movies I\'ve seen of this game show that it is just another Mario game.

What\'s new here?  What\'s going to make people say "wow that\'s really cool!"  It\'ll probably be fun, but it\'ll probably be another 3d platformer.  I\'ve seen or heard nothing to promise a revolution.  Just because it\'s a fat plumber with facial hair doesn\'t make the game an instant classic.

Sonic is the same way.  It\'s run it\'s course and now is peddling old ideas.

Platformers are tired, they need to rest and come back when they are ready to give us something new.
Language services three functions. The first is to
communicate ideas. The second is to conceal ideas. The
third is to conceal the absence of ideas.
