PS2 is standing still like a lame duck.

God, can anyone tell the big wiggs at SONY to release the PS3 in 2 years or sooner? :rolleyes:

I used to be a PS2 fan, but the truth is the XBOX is better at graphics, and the PC will kick the PayStations ass any day of the week now.

I think the PS2 development is stuck in a recession or something like that ...

It\'s called hype, and you bought into it. Not that the PS2 sucks.. because IMO, it\'s great.

Sony over-hyped it though, and now you feel underwhelmed. Maybe if they hadn\'t mentioned "Toy Story quality graphics" in the same sentence as "PlayStation 2", this wouldn\'t be happening. Bah, that was corny!

It\'s a good thing video games are more than just graphics, or Sony, and the hundred thousand+ people who buy a PS2 every week might actually care.

Whatever. Games are for playing, not watching. If you want Toy Story graphics on your PS2 go buy the friggin DVD. If you want next generation gameplay this is were its at.

If you accually like video games then you shoukd know by know what makes a good game. Not the graphics......I leave it to you to find out.

While I prefer some substance to a game..face it..graphics are important as well. Hell, even if a game is very lmuch acking in all departments, as long as I find it fun, thats all that matters.

WTF!!    

But this is the reason I went with the Xbox.  I couldn\'t take the lack of textures in the PS2.  I remember that a chip in the PS2 VOU or something like that was to be used to bring out the PS2 textures.  Something about the RAM.   I\'m still getting a PS3.  Can\'t wait to see the first screens.

Yeah, I remember that hype - although I personally believe that it was hyped more by the press rather than by Sony themselves.

Oh and about the graphics - go thank the developers, not the PS2.

blah blah graphics all i hear is that word when are the games that look good and are fun to play comming out i love what the xbox does graphically but lets face it it has no decent fighters
 no console rpg like final fantsay 10 just a bunch of pretty games that dont thrill you at all dont imerse you in to its world so untill bill and the boys get there act together my choice is sony baby

Ok, we agree gameplay is most important. Then we got
the graphics thing. Imo it\'s all about how a dev handles
the graphical power of a console, so I\'m talking about
style not technical quality. Look at Ico on PS2 versus DOA3
on Xbox. I prefer the look of Ico with it\'s filmgrain ( yes,
you CAN switch that option to ON) over the cleanish
look of DOA3 or any Tecmo game for that matter. As long
as a console\'s graphics capabilities are sufficient enough
for a dev to get his \'style\' done which I like, then it\'s all
good for me !:D PS2 is still very sufficient to get such stuff
done. (and yes, unfortunately there will always be some
devs who just lack the quality to portray visual style or
technical knowhow)
