Meet the bunny monster By TIM SPANTONA BUCK-TOOTHED dinosaur that looked like a cross between T Rex and cartoon favourite Bugs Bunny has been unearthed by scientists. The rabbit-like monster — dubbed Incisivosaurus — stalked the Earth 128million years ago.But although a cousin of both T Rex and the flesh-eating raptors from Jurassic Park, it used its protruding front teeth to munch only on PLANTS.The newly-discovered dinosaur — a member of the two-legged oviraptor family — has amazed scientists who found its fossil in Liaoning, North East China.Until now, they were convinced all oviraptors ate meat.Dr Xing Xu, of China’s Academy Of Sciences in Beijing, wrote about the find in the latest edition of Nature magazine. He said: “Incisivosaurus represents the first theropod displaying distinct dental adaptations for a plant-eating diet.“The front teeth are very similar to the incisors found in a few specialised mammals such as rodents, which use them for gnawing.” The Sun revealed last year how fossils in New Mexico and China showed fearsome T Rex and many other dinosaurs were covered in FEATHERS.And from the amazing artists’ impressions released yesterday, it seems the Incisivosaurus was no exception.A spokesman for Nature said: “This is a true dinosaur oddity that adds to the growing tally of weirdness.“It really does look like a cross between a dinosaur and a rabbit.”Sadly toothsome Incisivosaurus — said to have been small with a 10cm-long head — never tasted Bugs’ favourite snack of carrots. They had yet to evolve in the Lower Cretaceous period.
