The Minnesota Vikings announced on Wednesday that Randy Moss will start against the Seattle Seahawks this weekend, according to the Associated Press.
The team will reportedly discipline Moss for missing part of Wednesday\'s practice.
"I\'m still disappointed,\'\' Tice told the AP. "This doesn\'t change the fact that we\'ve been dealing with this for the last 24 hours, that I slept very little last night and I ate a half a jar of Maalox.\'\'
Moss was arrested Tuesday night during rush hour in downtown Minneapolis and was held in a Hennepin County jail overnight before his release on Wednesday afternoon. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Moss will be charged by the Minneapolis City Attorney\'s Office with two misdemeanors, careless driving and failing to obey a traffic agent.
The AP also reports Minneaplois Police found a small amount of marijuana in Moss\'s car--enough to qualify as a petty misdemeanor. No charges were immediately filed relating to the marijuana possession, however.
"You\'ll hear my side later,\'\' Moss told the AP. "I was treated bad.\'\'
According to the police complaint, the incident took place at 5:22 PM Tuesday. Moss attempted to turn right onto Marquette Ave. in Minneapolis from a lane whose traffic was supposed to keep going straight. When traffic control agent, Amy Elizabeth Zaccardi, ordered him to stop, he ignored her and gradually continued. Witnesses then say Zaccardi turned and sat on the hood of Moss\' vehicle and he slowly proceeded for about half a block before stopping. Zaccardi fell to the street on her face and sustained minor injuries.
Minneapolis police were on the scene almost immediately and Moss did not resist arrest. "He is going to be treated no different than anybody else as far as the Minneapolis Police Department is concerned," spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Even though Moss is playing this weekend, it doesn\'t mean he is out of the woods yet. The Vikings could decide to suspend the wide receiver following this weekend\'s game.
Darns it.
