So whats the verdict on 56K online
« on: October 30, 2002, 12:26:36 PM »
I\'m pretty disgusted about the unavailability of broadband at my place, and have heard too many negative things about the limitations of 56K online with the PS2

anyone want to tell me their opinion

thanks

I have been disconnected so many times with playing 56k people.  But then again some of the games I completed I wouldn\'t have known I was playing a 56k person, so who knows.
I wear a necklace now because I like to know when I\'m upside down.

Agreed, I played as 56k three games with Madden because I wanted to see how lucky I was to have BB but also just to see what others had to deal with... I found out,  it wasn\'t that bad.  Every now and then, I get major lag, but overall wasn\'t bad...  Then again one of threee, I disconnetced... So that was the one thing that pissed me off.

So, give it a try for some people they integrate well, for others, I just don\'t know.

I havent tried any of my online games using dial-up, but I know it really limits you to a fewer ammount of games.  All the really good games require BB.  But, Even with broadband you can get dropped.  It happens to me while playing Socom.  I couldnt even imagine why people wanted to get on socom with dial-up.  I wouldnt think that it would work at all.  I  guess it was being done.  Is FF 11 going to need BB?  I\'m guessing so.  Anyone know how much its gonna be a to play?

my attitude is screw it right now

I\'m not supporting online gaming anytime soon then

with the economy in the toilet there is no hurry to expand broadband capabilities, and I live less then a mile away from the end of the line

I use dial-up and have played about 50 games and have only been disconnected maybe 5 to seven times.. I guess its a combination of luck and just getting a good connection.. But I\'d much rather us BB, which I should have in a few months.

If you have 56k THPS4 is a must... it has no lag whatsoever and up to 8 guys can play in a game together!
