Well the USB ethernet worked for Tony Hawk 3 so I don\'t see why it wouldn\'t work unless Sony made their adapter in such a way that only it responds to their games...who knows till more online games are out...or you can try it with Madden.

the 27th of this Month for $39.99 , an internet connection (DUH!), if you use dial-up nothing but your phone line, if you use broadband you need a hub of some sort because the connections on the adapter are CAT-5 (Networking cable) and an analog Phone line connector.

dunno if those "non-PS2" internet thingies will work with the new games...but no....all the BBA has is a cat-5 and a Phone line plug........

i\'ve got a linksys usb adapter and it works fine with thps3 and i believe it works with madden 2003 (i\'m in the uk so i won\'t be able to try it until it gets released over here) but i\'ve found this faq
http://www.cube99.com/guides/ps2_Madden_NFL_2003_faq.txt

Requirements
============
- Linksis 10/100TX USB Ethernet Adapter
- cable modem
- ethernet cable
- USB cable
- Sony PS2 Memory Card (400KB Free)
- Sony PS2 System
- Sony PS2 Madden NFL 2003 Game
- Recommended: USB Keyboard for PS2

=============
Setting It Up
=============
  +-------+            +--------+          +--------+
  | Cable +--ethernet--+Ethernet|   USB    |  Sony  |
  | Modem |   cable    |Adaptor +--cable---+  PS2   |
  +-------+            +--------+          +--------+

==========
What To Do
==========
- Turn on Madden NFL 2003
- Select Features, Online
- Create a new account
- Load, dark blue screen appears
- Add new settings
- Proceed until it asks to select hardware
- Select the Linksis 10/100TX USB Ethernet Adapter
- Proceed until it asks for a password
- If you need one to connect, select \'yes\'--chances are you can just press \'no\'
- Your next two choices need to be \'auto\'
- It\'s all set up, so quit
- Now go online, through Features, Online
- Make a profile, register it online
- PLAY SOME FOOTBALL

i\'d be interested to hear if someone in the us gets it to work cos i\'m dying to play this online once it gets released.

btw does anyone know the uk release date for madden 2003?

Using Linksys USB adapter with TH4.  Only thing to be aware of is if you are using a router, you may need to configure the router to pass gamespy information back by opening port 5150.  You can get the details here.

I play Socom, Tribes, THPS4, NBA, TMB:O and some more with an USB Eathernet Adapter... there was one Game that didn´t work without the original BBA, but I can´t remember which one.
