The Ico dilemma

I played the ico demo and I must say I was deeply impressed.The atmosphere of the game really sucked me in and the characters were sympathetic(although I didn\'t understand what they were saying)  :cool:

My only problem is the replayability of the game.I mean if you finished it once there is really no reason to go back(except to show the game of to your friends).As far as I know there are no extras so the game is kinda limited.I would rent it but then I\'m freaking out because then I think"Ooh I must play through this area what do I do,where do I begin.This is because I can only rent it for a couple of days.A good solution would be to lend it from a friend of mine except none of my friends have ico(the basterds!)   :hat:

Maybe I should just step up to someone and ask them "Do you have Ico" and when they say yes I just say"Fine then you\'re my friend from now one"
Maybe I\'ll buy it if/when it turns platinum.


What are your thoughts?

Well, Ico\'s still one of my PS2 favs. As I live in Europe, our
PAL version came in a deluxe cardboard box with 2 extra
art cards. Also there are some little extra\'s in the game,
unlockable \'eastereggs\'... so I\'ve heard. Anyway, I always
find it very nice to just replay a saved game for an hour or 2.
It\'s just a must-have ( I should say must-own) for ppl who
like these cereberal games.

Dude, buy Ico...it\'s a game unlike any other on the PS2...the puzzles are good, you get a feeling of accomplishment from seeing the solution, and it\'s just damn gorgeous.  

Unless you like nothing other than arcade blasters (not that there\'s anything wrong with them)...get this game.

I say buy it. It\'s a cool enough atmosphere that it\'s still fun to go back and play just to get lost in that world for awhile, even if there\'s nothing new to the game once you finish it.

Hmm,m ICO..  well here\'s my opinion of the game, and I know that there\'s others that will agree or disagree, but I\'m just here to post my opinions, so yeah, that\'s all the fine print, I guess.

Well, I\'ve read a lot of good review about the game, and I decided to give it a try and bought it because I was bored one day.  Well I played it for about a week straight, and I really liked the humongous atmospheres and the feeling of getting lost and stuff like that.

But for me, it got old really quick.  I\'m probably not half was through the game, but I really don\'t find myself picking it up and playing it.  To me, it offers nothing new, and everything becomes rather redundant.  I don\'t know.  I sat through Myst when I bought that, and I completed it without getting bored, but ICO doesn\'t seem to offer me the same kind of feeling to try to keep going on.

Maybe it\'s because I own it or something.. I\'d suggest renting the game, playing it for however much you can play, and save the game where you have to stop playing.  If you\'re still interested, rent it again and keep playing..  I\'m sure that before you spend $40 on rentals, you\'d have either finished the game, or gotten bored of it.  After spending $40, if you really like it that much... umm... I suppose you could buy it =)

Okay, that wasn\'t probably the best suggestions, but personally, I don\'t think the game has much replay value, and to me, it did get old real quick.  But I do like the environment, the settings, how annoying the girl can get sometimes, and how helpful she can be when she points out where you\'re supposed to go.... well, its not a bad game, but I guess it just doesn\'t float my boat.

P.S. Was that long enough to warrant a cookie?

I\'ve seen new copies of the game selling for about $15, so the cost won\'t set you back much.  I paid $45 for mine the day it was released, and I don\'t regret ever doing so.  I was just as impressed with the demo as you seem to be, and yet I was still captivated by the full game.  Again:  Buy it.

I was wondering to myself, Is ICO on the greatest hits series yet.  If it is, I\'m going to take $20 and go ahead and pick it up.  I\'ve heard it is a mighty fine game, short, but very fun.

What\'s most amazing about ICO, is how it brings forth a completely believable environment that you much traverse. Everything looks real, sounds real, behaves real, yet it\'s totally unreal. There\'s not one moment in the game that would break the illusion of a strange new world.

I\'ve played through it 2 times now, finding all the secrets and stuff... so there\'s not much to go back to, but I\'m just proud to own one of the most amazing games of all time

was round my mates house today, ive leant him the game. he was a few hours thrpough when i cam around, completed it...... i remeber it being o good, but its graphics stil totally blow me away, and the game play is soooooooooooo good

Ico had become greatest Hits in America, only sell for $20.  But I didnt buy it though.
