The United States military has confirmed that one of its Apache helicopters has been shot down in Iraq. Iraqi television showed pictures of the helicopter, which it said came down near the city of Kerbala, 110 kilometres (70 miles) south-west of Baghdad. "I can confirm that we have one helicopter down," a US defence official was quoted by Reuters news agency as saying. But there has been no response by the Pentagon to Iraqi claims that a second helicopter has been shot down. Iraq\'s Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf said: "A small number of peasants - brave peasants - shot down two Apaches," adding that Iraq might show pictures of the pilots.
planes were shot down by the very same people that U.S military are trying to protect. they probably did it for the money that saddam has promised.too bad that greedy bastard would have tose peasants killed before they even saw a dime of it.
