Something else to somehow blame on the US
« on: April 08, 2003, 11:55:25 AM »

A man, suspected of being a Fedayeen member, is beaten by a group residents on the streets of Basra, Iraq

I\'m sure the dude just stole his coke money or something. Probably has nothing to do with a repressed nation striking back now that they feel like they can.

Well, if they were for it and Saddams\' regime found out, that guy got a bullet to the back of the head.

Here\'s more stuff to blame on the US.  Man I can\'t believe how much the Iraqi people enjoyed being controlled by the Baath party. Now that they are getting the courage to speak up more it seems they really will miss this regime.

This is not from a US website mind you:

U.S. Marines in Baghdad, looting follows
From the International Desk

BAGHDAD, Iraq, April 9 (UPI) -- The regime of Saddam Hussein appeared to be crumbling in Baghdad Wednesday, with U.S. troops expanding their control of the Iraqi capital and mass looting breaking out.

As U.S. forces advanced into the Baghdad suburb of Saddam City, several hundred residents cheered the soldiers.

Baghdad residents also ransacked the United Nations headquarters along with factories and shops near the Olympic Committee building. Looters were also seen storming government and military offices, including the Ba\'ath Party headquarters.

Citizens carried away new rubber tires, boxes of food, furniture and electrical equipments.

An Iraqi citizen was seen hitting a colored poster of Saddam with a shoe and shouting: "You criminal, murderer."

Meanwhile, fighting between U.S. and Iraqi forces continued in other areas of Baghdad.

After every war there is a period of Chaos.

the only problem is that that B@stard Saddam has kept his people in terror for the past 25 years that the responce is bound to be magnifyed.

I think it\'s wonderful.  They deserve this stuff.  As long as they steal from the government.  If they start stealing from stores and shit, well that\'s wrong.  But they deserve to run off with gold sinks, desks, etc....

Nice to see that Olympic stadium owned by one of Saddams sons , looted and then burned to the ground afterwards.

I agree with you there. Saddam screwed these people over so bad and they deserve some nice things like that. But just wait until we open trade with them. They\'ll get some pretty nice stuff then and don\'t have to live in poverty (well, they might for a long time). I can\'t wait to see what good comes to the Iraqi people.

Apparently they did start stealing from businesses.  Well, I guess they are all Syracuse fans.

I do have to wonder about the intelligence and or common sense of some of these ppl though.

Now they were robbing government reserves and banks...

That is acceptable in this particular situation. The thing that gets me is this. You have the smart ones taking the money...then you have the retarded ones ripping it up and burning it just b/c it has saddams face on it.

Now yes, that money will be useless eventually since they are/will be removing everything saddam. As of the moment, it is still the money that is used and accepted and once the one does get changed, Im sire anyone with the cash in hand would be able to exchange it dollar for dollar.

The looting will stop soon.  I think the US got cought off guard that they were able to take over the city so quickly.  Once they root out these small pockets of resistance they can concentrate on police procedures.
