http://www.psx2central.com/e3/e3aarondance.jpgAfter the Sony party, which saw the likes of the Foo FIghters, George Clinton, Tommy Lee, and Macy Gray perform, we got a short night\'s sleep and headed back to the show.
Friday\'s a unique day at E3, cause everyone is tired, either from the party, or just from two days of non-stop noise and chaos. I hit a few booth appointments, and spent the last few hours getting to all the games I wanted to play. Here\'s the latest lowdown:
Square Enix RPG\'s: Since I was media, I was able to skip the hour long wait to watch the 24 minute movies that they had for all of their games. All of the games looked great, but they didn\'t show much gameplay at all. Looks like same ol\' same ol\' but that\'s not really a bad thing. The preview did make FF XI look interesting, which was cool since it looks like crap on the show floor.
Castlevania PS2: I got to spend lots of time with this one, and I had a blast. The controls were so easy to pick up, and it wasn\'t too difficult to fend off monsters even when you were surrounded by them. It\'s a little tough to navigate right now, because you can get turned around really easily, but they are planning to add a map, which will helps tons.
XIII: This is a cel-shaded fps that places you in the middle of a massive conspiracy where you are accused of killing the president. Sadly for you, you have amnesia and don\'t know what really happened. It\'s your duty to uncover the plot and clear your name. The game looks cool, and seems to play decent, but the story and the game\'s comic book style make it stand out.
Starfox: At this point the game is crap. The main issue was player one starts out next to an Arwing, while everyone else is on the ground. This wouldn\'t be so bad, but THE ARWING CAN STOP IN MID-AIR AND ROTATE TO DESTROY ANYONE ON THE GROUND. I can\'t believe they let a demo like that be played. Other than that, the controls are sloppy, the levels are horribly bland, and it\'s not that fun. I\'m sure it won\'t be out for at least 9 months, but even that long might not be enough time to fix this one.
Doom 3: I watched the video, and it was very impressive. Why the heck isn\'t this thing playable yet? That kind of worries me. There were always tons of crowds around to watch the trailer, so the long wait hasn\'t deterred the masses from getting excited.
Halo 2: This was one of the few things I wanted to see, but never got to . The lines were simply too long to watch the trailer, and I would rather play 2 hours of games, than sit in line to watch it. I hear it rocked though, from many people.
Well, I guess that\'s about it. I have a few more pictures to post here and there, but nothing too exciting. Any questions on a game I didn\'t mention? I\'ll let you know if I played it.
