I take it you have 32 bit vista? I have been getting used to 64 bit Vista Home Premium and so far it\'s pretty nice... but I\'ve also had my share of problems (none of which are Microsoft\'s fault from what I\'ve read).
I have a 7900gt and play mainly cod4.. it plays no problem with the standard video card driver vista installs by default, and even though this driver is 2+ years old it works.. albeit with flickering textures.
Now when I got to update the driver to the newest 64 bit version straight from nvidias driver download page (I\'ve also tried beta version from guru3d), my computer tells me my video card is malfunctioning and not until I un-install the driver, reboot and let vista re-install it\'s own does it recognize the video card.
Also using the newest 64 bit drivers vista will have a scrambled screen when you wake your computer up from sleep mode. From my research it seems to only be a problem for people with the 7xxx series nvidia cards and the 64 bit drivers, every other card seems to work how they should. I know my 7900gt is getting a little old.. but it still plays the games I want to play good enough for me.. but I have been eying up a 4850 or 4870.. this might speed this purchase up/
