I know its probably gonna blow, but these (doctored, fake, microganda>?) screens are looking sweet. The Sydney tracks especially look good.

it looks stunning imo, but i\'m still concerned about
the way it plays. Yes i\'m pointing out to the 30 fps
issue. Bizarre claim that only the renderer will be at
a locked 30 fps and everything else, like AI, control
etc will be at 60 fps @ 60 hz.

The Graphics run at 30FPS (unlike GT3\'s 60 FPS)
The Input Code (from pad) / Physics Engine runs at 60FPS (Records input 60 times a second)-(GT3 = 120 times a second)
Meaning, that PG2 records human input at 60 times a second, whereas GT3 recorded human input 120 times a second.

The benefit from a 60FPS Graphics engine over a 30FPS one, is that you can see your input visually on screen far more
responsively than what you would a 30FPS game.

E.G. if you were to have a flipped coin displayed on screen, that was spinning between heads and tails 60 times a second,
then on a locked 30FPS display, you would only see one side of the coin. on a 60FPS display you would see both sides.

but most of you probably allready knew that.

I still dont get  it.The graphics are running at 30 fps and that means the car is moving at 30fps.So how can the car respond to 60fps of human input when the car displays a movement per frame?Human input of two times a second on each frame?
The human eye wont be catching half of the human input per second because of missing frames.
Its like playing Quake with lag.

Like I said in the PGR2 thread in Console discussion, there\'s heated debates on the Bizzarecreations.com forums over this
whole frames per second thing. Myself, I\'m in at the side of
the "we-want-60 fps-no matter what" ppl. The difference
between 30 and 60 is a certain \'feel\'. Somehow i just can\'t get
into < 30 fps racing games, they feel unresponsive and sluggish
2me. I think the guys at Bizarrecreations initially aimed at 60,
now they are so far into developement and notice the engine
can\'t pull off a locked 60 fps and they\'ve got no time to fix it.
They got their sums wrong. Too bad the MS marketing boys are
gonna hype this pretty slideshow all the way up. ( maybe...
i just hope this locked 30 fps plays better than i think it will )

As long as it doesn\'t go below 30fps, how could you even tell?  Your tv only puts out 30fps anyway.

Not quite true considering that there is a NOTICABLE difference. A tv displays two field frames (odd/even) every 1/30th (60Hz) of a second in which you will be able to notice the difference between a 60 fps game and one that is running at half the framerate.

A game running at 30 fps will have two equal looking fields (even/odd) every 30th of a second, while a game running at 60 fps obviously will not.

It pisses me off how they \'lock\' it at 30fps. This is what happened with NFS HP2 for PS2 last year. There was a demo that was released with OPS2M 2 months before it was released, and the framerate jumped around from 60fps down to around 30fps. It wasn\'t really a bad thing, and it was good because in the demo in the cockpit view, it pretty much so remained silky smooth. Then the real game arrived and it was locked at like 30fps, even though in, for instance, Time Trial mode with only 1 car on screen (as apposed to 12) you could have probably had it at 60fps the majority of the time.

For me there is a big differance between the two. At 60, no matter how fast your going, there is never any blurring, it is always smooth.
