*shrugs*

I don\'t think JSR/JGR looks better than this (at least not just from stills.  I haven\'t seen this in motion).  I think this title, graphically, looks very polished, and certainly up to the level of any other cel-shaded game (Dark Cloud 2, Zelda, TFLO etc.)

You\'re going to have to help me out, because I\'m not finding "10X better looking than DQ8" anywhere here.

Think for yourself. Question authority.

Actually the red X\'s were quite small. But just because Spudz didn\'t like them, and I\'m only doing this for him and only because he wishes he was as cool as me, I\'ve replaced them with links which can be clicked for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

The XBOX JTRF
Thats what I call graphics
The JGR.Not so bad for an old DC game
The ZOE2 again
An almost 2 year old game?

JGR at nightime.I dont find DQ8 impressive when I compare it with old games.

What else is missing from DQ8 is the cartoonish, anime shading you find on most cel-shaded games. In DQ8 its only a black outline. Now take the cel-shaded characterts out and nothing else is cel-shaded.The Backrounds arent THAT great.

Just to let those who are interested know:

DragonQuest up to the last series was actually developed by a company named HeartBeat.  They did all the actual coding for the game.  Since VII, and some subsequent re-releases of previous titles, the company has gone bankrupt.

Since Enix had been publishing the titles, they retained the rights to the name, and now have switched development firms for the game to Level 5.

Some of you may be aware, that Level 5 is the same company that has made Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle.   Hence, the results that some think that it looks like those games.

As for the graphics and artworks, Enix continued with using Bird Studios for character designs.  Bird Studio is headed by Toriyama Akira, also known for his manga and Anime series DragonBall and Dr. Slump.

Although SquareEnix is officially releasing this game, it\'s not the same Square team that is working on Final Fantasy and other games, thus you\'re going to get a difference in quality and amount of effort put into games.  When you really start digging deep down inside, most japanese games out there are rarely ever developed by the big name companies that are releasing the titles anyways.
blah blah blah, blah blah blah
Oh just shut up and quit your gripin\'
