GBA game suggestions...
« on: September 06, 2003, 04:33:20 PM »
I need some.

I just bought the GBA player for my GC...it looks cool but the GC is no longer a cube:(

I bought Yoshi\'s Island to hold me over until Final Fantasy Tactics gets its\' release this coming Tuesday.  What other games should I pick up?

I\'m thinking of...

Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons
Metroid Fusion
Mario World
Mario Kart Advance
Banjo-Kazooie (soon to be released)

I know there are more must owns that what I listed.  Help me out.  I like good platform games, adventure, puzzle games, and racing...and above all a good RPG.

While I\'m on the subject, why the hell hasn\'t Nintendo brought back Super Mario RPG and Killer Instinct from the SNES?  I miss those games so much...

Also, any news on a Final Fantasy III remake for GBA?

Advance Wars
Advance Wars 2
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
Golden Sun
Golden Sun the Lost Age
Irdion II
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland
Klonoa Empire of Dreams
Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past and the Four Swords
Ninja Five-O
Sonic Advance 2
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis

With that list, and the games you already mentioned, you can\'t go wrong.  Each item is linked to the appropriate Gamespot page so I saved you some time. :)

Also, in regards to Mario RPG, I refer you to the following link.  Nothing has been reported about an FFVI port to the GBA, but keep an eye out at TGS.  Rumor has it, Square is going to announce some multi million seller for the GBA for this Japanese Holiday season so just wait and see...

very cool, Ryu.

I didn\'t know they had Klonoa or Tactics Ogre...both of which I\'ve enjoyed other console versions quite a bit.  I\'m definitely picking those up along with Sonic Advance 2 and Kirby.

I\'ve never been much a fan of Castlevania but perhaps it\'s time to give the series another shot. (Last chance I gave it was back in the SNES days!)

I\'ll have to dig for some more reviews but I\'ll definitely look into the other games you listed just because you recommend them.  I\'ll be busy for a while:D

Also, can anyone give impressions on some RPGs like Breath of Fire, Lunar Legends, or the Phantasy Star Collection?  I\'m looking up reviews but it\'d be cool to hear some impressions from you guys...

I updated my list with some additional images so you know which ones to REALLY take a look at.  Each game on there, in addition to the ones you listed, especially Metroid Fusion [probably the best game on the GBA atm], is worthy of picking up at least once in some capacity, but the ones I tagged are definitely the cream of the crop, especially as far as sequals are concerned.

If the last time you mplayed A CastleVania game was the SNES - you are in for a drastic change.

Think Super Metriod with a gothic enviroment.

SNES + Castlevania = Fond memories

Booo, you made me want to play Super Castlevania IV again. I wonder if there\'ll ever be a re-release? IMO one of the best action/platform games ever, and has one of the best soundtracks to boot.

I just bought Metroid Fusion off of ebay, I\'m currently in some bidding wars for Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Harmony of Dissonance.  I\'ll eventually get the two of them though along with the others that were recommended.  I\'ll have plenty of gaming to do while I wait for my most anticpated game of 2003...Jak and Daxter II, then Final Fantasy X-2.

I also ordered Final Fantasy Tactics from Nintendo.com
They currently have a deal for $60 you get:

Final Fantasy Tactics
FFT players guide
1 year subscription to Nintendo Power
10$ off the purchase of a GBA SP

To excellent a deal to pass up, so I\'ll just have to wait a few extra days for shipping.

Thanks alot guys for all your suggestions and help:)

I\'ll be sure to post some impressions of Final Fantasy Tactics when I get it, hopefully I\'m not the only one.

Hawke: CV4\'s soundtrack kicks everybody\'s behind. I gotta say that it was just continuing the tradition of Castlevania, though.. and that also continued with SOTN which most will agree also has a super soundtrack.
