About a week ago I got an email confirming I was in the SOCOM 2 beta test, but it was only today that I found out the Beta testers had a message board of their own at playstation.com.  So, I log on and I see this topic about the Betas making CNN headlines.  So, I click the link, and it\'s listed under CNN weather.  It goes on to talk about a UPS truck that was delivering yesterday, got toppled over by Isabelle, and lost thousands of packages.  Then, at the end of the article, it made mention of the SOCOM 2 Betas being among packages lost in the accident.

Anyway, this was all just a joke page that looked very real (something like the "Eminem dies in car accident" thing that happened a few years back).  Apparently, not everyone knows this is a joke. http://www.ocgn.com has it as their main story today.  Now the guy that made it is freaking because he thinks he\'s going to be sued by CNN:)

That\'s pretty funny.  I\'m a beta tester for it too.  I hope my kit didn\'t get lost... ;)

I\'m a member of the Gamer Advisory Panel and Sony actually invited me to come sign up for the beta for it.  Your guess about how others go about doing it is as good as mine.

I should have showed you the letter of intent to sue the owner of members.bellatlantic.net by a couple of companies that had their names put up in felonious news. Several of their clients thought it was real and phoned them with plenty of angry emotions (apparently the fake news had something to do them being terrorist or pedophiles or something).

As you recall, I made my own news about sharks with laser beams on their heads that were trained by the Navy. :p Of course, I also let you all know it was fake right away, knowing the gullible nature of the members here. :D
