A man in Fredericksburg, Virginia, US, named Rodney Prophitt has been charged with assault and theft after allegedly pulling off a neighbours artificial leg and beating him with it.
The victim, Michael Clapp, had approached Prophitt after a bottle of medicine had gone missing from his home. During the confrontation that followed Prophitt pulled off the false leg and repeatedly hit Clapp, breaking his nose and damaging his face.
A police spokesman said "At some point, Mr. Clapp was able to grab his leg back, get back to his apartment and call police."
