Broken CDR?

IGNORE

After a lot of "Hmm" and "Ah":s I found the damn firmware update, I decided to try it and now its back to normal.. Surprised? I was. :D

  IGNORE

A few months ago I got a Samsung CD-R/RW SW-242F 52-32-52.. I’m pretty happy with it, but lately it has been acting weird.. For example, if I’m burning a file (at x52 using a x52 CDR) it will start out normal, but after a little while you can hear the disc slowing down.. resulting in the burn taking about 10 minutes instead of 3-4 minutes. This did not happen before?

I’m not having any problems with the burned CDs though, so it burns fine but really really slow.

I ran a test with nero CD SPEED, and the average burning speed was ~11x.. WTF? Is it broken? Why does it refuse to go higher?
Also when burning files I see that the CD Burner buffer not being stable like it used to, instead of staying at 100% it jumps between 20% and 80%.

Any settings that might have changed (Im no wizard when it comes to CD burners :p )? I uninstalled my old Nero version and got a new one, but the problem is still there. Hmmm.

The warranty is one year or so, but I want to try everything before getting a new one.

Thanks for any help.
