Hmm

This is very problematic, when I play online games I get lag every 20-25 seconds. Anyone know why this is and how can I fix it?



Just browsing the internet is fine though.

y come u don\'t post as much anymore rob?

If it were me I\'d:

1) Go to the Linksys site and update to the latest software
2) Move computer closer to access point and see if that makes a difference
3) Go to Linksys support forums (or computer forums) and search/ask my question there
4) Run a cable to wherever I need internet ;)

Odd. My Linksys wireless connections run very fast and over multiple floors to multiple computers. And I dont think me using cable would make a big difference.

If you have any portable phones, sometimes they latch onto the same bands.. happened to mine - whenever the phone was in use, the connection went to hell...  check that out, it\'s an easy fix.  Don\'t leave a cell near either component - every 20-30 seconds they (for lack of a better word) ping the network they\'re on.

If not, update everything.

The problems mostly occur when I play online games. It\'s fine for the most part just browsing the internet.

yes I would update the driver.

cable > dsl

i got dsl and it is much slower than my friends comcast. net:(

goto the lynksys website and check for firmware upgrades to your model of router.  Then your NIC card\'s website for the same.

The problem may be more NOTICIBLE when gaming, cause it\'s constant, but it would make more sense if it\'s always true, you just don\'t notice it for surfing.  Try downloading a 5-10 meg file, and watch it\'s progress... see if it\'s stopping.  If not, and it\'s just in certain games, you may need to see if there\'s a slowdown happening somewhere on your machine.

I have the Wireless B Router and USB Network Adapter.

Doing a quick google, I came upon many tech forums that had problems with gaming lag spikes.

example

check that out, see if any of their solutions help.  If not google for more, but with a cursory glance (I\'m going to bed), I didn\'t notice any solutions that seem to have worked for everyone.

I fixed my problem. It was that damn Wireless Zero Configuration...
