March 22, 2004 - Internet news site Games Industry Biz is reporting that the sequels to Metroid Prime and Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will be spotlighted at Nintendo\'s E3 2004 pre-show, set to take place one day prior to the launch of the event, which begins May 12 in Los Angeles.

Sources had previously confirmed to IGN that the next installment in Nintendo\'s Metroid Prime franchise would be on hand at E3 2004. IGN has since learned that Nintendo is planning to debut a one-level demo of Metroid Prime 2 at the show, just as it did for the fist game two years ago.
While little is known about the storyline of Metroid Prime 2, insiders have indicated to IGN that the game will play similarly to the first title with more third-person morphball mechanics and related puzzles. There may also be an advanced camera system that enables players to manually trigger a third-person view without morphing into a ball. On top of that, the game\'s graphics have been dramatically improved, a surprising feat given that the original looked spectacular.

Game Industry Biz reports that Nintendo will also unveil the sequel to Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker at its pre-E3 show event.

Nintendo has previously announced that Wind Waker 2 would run on the same game engine as the first and feature similar cel-shaded graphics.

No word on release dates for either game, but Metroid Prime 2 is expected to ship later this year in the US and if rumors are true that Wind Waker 2 is already in advanced stages of development the title could also launch in time for the holiday.
