So at my job, we are buying new computers. I work in a small mall portrait studio and I act as the tech guy there as well as the lead photographer. So basically, whenever a computer goes down or anything goes wrong with a computer, I usually fix it. Now, my owner is buying new computers and asked my help in picking it out. We need to have Windows 7 Pro but the crop of new machines that are a good value is dwindling fast and at the 600 price tag my boss is looking for limits that.
I suggested while doing my research is buying a Windows 8 Pro machine and using the downgrade rights to downgrade to Windows 7 Pro. I did some research but I\'m confused a bit. It says I need a disk to activate. Does that mean I need a Windows 7 disk and key or is it a Windows 8 disk and key that I call MS and they give me a Windows 7 activation code? Its mostly this line that I\'m confused about
Obtain genuine Windows media and a corresponding product key for the version of Windows that is eligible for downgrade.
The media should come from a prior legally licensed version from the OEM or retail channels.
