Beyond Good and Evil
« on: April 12, 2004, 08:10:07 AM »
When this came out, I got Prince of Persia instead, but since it\'s only $20 now, and a used copy runs like $16, I decided to grab Beyond Good and Evil.

The EB guy said it was good, so...

Nah, it\'s been pretty much universally praised as great so I had to give it a whirl.  I\'m about an hour into it now, just getting going on the plot. It seems pretty linear so far, but I also have a feeling there\'s stuff I\'m not doing that I could be.

So far it\'s too early to tell, but it does seem like a well put together game.  Anybody else give this one a shot? I\'m sure at least Ryu did...

Got it for my X Box... and it  VERY nice indeed.

The story is linear but once you find start to get into it, it hooks you right in.

Nice Mixture of
Platform\'n
Stealth
Exploration
Collection
And the Odd Race.

the only down side its its a bit on the SHORT side.

other than that a VERY good game indeed.

i agree with "the true scott" this was one of those sleeper hits imo & while the story is kinda linear(you can break off from the story a bit by collecting pearls,..races etc) it\'s still a very well put together game..shame really..since the sales wasn\'t that great i guess we won\'t be getting a sequel to this game.

Yeah that\'s the version I picked up.  I was holding the Xbox version and put it back because of the inferior controller and because Nintendo needs a sale more than Microsoft does, in my opinion. Sometimes the Xbox versions have better graphics, but since I didn\'t know for sure, I didn\'t buy it.

I havent played this game yet either. When i find it for 20 bux or so ill get it. Or maybe rent it. I dont know how the game is now but what got me hooked on it was the first trailer that came out around 2001 when the game was still called "Project BG&E."

The music and the mistique of the whole game caught me. If only more games had Ambient D&B type music. There really needs to be a gaming revolution/renaissance bad.
