The front rims are 3D but for some reason the rear ones are 2D.

I think (possibly) the spokes are just flat with shading but since they are connected to the whole rim, and you can see through it, the entire wheel is 3D.

Ok. People. How many times have we gone over this in the past? The Screen capture you posted was in the garage. All cars in the garage have 3D rims. GT3 was the same. When the gameplay comes in, they are flat. And its not just the rear rims. Nobody in their right mind would make the front in 3D and the rear ones flat.

Essetially they are 3D because you can see through them but in terms of the actual contortions of the rims, they are flat. Its been this way for quite some time. I know this may be hard for some of you but the rims are 3D and will probably be that way untill PS3.

Ok, well i just decided to post some screens but in there there are a couple of slight wheel shots. Obviously, they are flat. These came out on the 12th.

Who cares about the rims? The car moves almost at all times in gameplay. You wont be admiring any rims anyways while the wheel spins.
The whole game looks god damn impressive. Its the people that should be 3D.And I thought PD said they were going to make them 3D.But I still see flat people

You\'re on a streak! First you mixed PS2 and PS3 in the new Cell thread, and now this!

OH MAN! YOU GOT ME THERE!

as if it is so hard to fathom such simple mistakes. You obviously understood my point so uhm.... shut up. You arent funny ;)
Get it, Got it, Good

As for Uni: You are right i agree with you but 3D rims is far more believeable than 3d crowds. I guess it depends but the number of people they would have to render is fairly massive. I think we\'ll have to wait for that one. I just wish to see those shiny rims in my replays as well as the rims on other cars while im racing.

Believe it or not it does make a difference, though it is not huge. Paying certain games with 3D rims you see that it is quite noticeable.

Heh.I think the reason why we have a different approach on the matter is because I am not exactly a car lover despite the fact that I love this game. You like watching the cars in their whole realistic splendour as much as possible if I am not mistaken. :)

Do they look 2D in the Photo mode btw?Atleast that should decrease your disappointmen on the rims matter if its true
