Blair hit during Commons protest


The House of Commons has been suspended during Prime Minister\'s question time after what appeared to be purple powder was thrown at Tony Blair.
Mr Blair was speaking during his weekly half-hour appearance in the Commons when a condom filled with coloured flour hit him on his back.

MPs were immediately evacuated. Tests suggest the powder was harmless.

The campaign group Fathers 4 Justice claimed responsibility. Two men aged 50 and 36 have been arrested.

I wish we had something like Prime Minister\'s Questions in the US.  It would be great if El Presidente had to answer any and all questions from Congress.  Pfffttt, like that\'s going to happen.  He can\'t even answer questions from a carefully screened cadre of status quo journalists.

Even though I would back their cause if I were a UK citizen - it is disgraceful that one would pelt their leader with objects.  I enjoy watching the House of Commons on C-Span and though the debates are lively, I have never seen anything like this.

I don\'t think this helps their cause at all.

A father\'s rights protester has been fined £600 for throwing flour at Tony Blair during last week\'s prime minister\'s questions.
Mr Blair was hit by a condom filled with purple flour while speaking in the Commons, prompting a security review.

Guy Harrison, 36, of Ashurst, Sussex, admitted a public order offence at London\'s Bow Street Magistrates\' Court.

A second man, Patrick Ronald Davis, 48, pleaded not guilty to the same offence and will return to court next month.

Ok why or better how on earth does Blair equal more than the passed 3 US presidents?  hahaha  Do I have to break out another THX formula again?

About the UK guy, just a fine?  I\'d imagine here in the US the guy would get instant jail time for such a stunt.  We just have a bad history of presidential assasinations and any violence towards the man (or woman, hopefully man) would be dealt with harshly.
