Ok now I need some xp help please

Ok so comcast came out here they told me my connection is fine and up and running and the reason why I keep getting shut down because there is a setting in xp that keeps shutting down my modem.

The guy went into power option but had no clue what to look for.
Any help

I went into power settings hibernation was checked to go down every 35minutes the computer is idle I turned it off don\'t know if this is the cause.

If this is inappropriate please tell me but i figured we didnt need a lot of help threads going on at once (dont mean to steal your fire QuD):

I had Kazaa Lite ++ and when i would dl a video it would complete and the file never ended up in my shared folder. I searched for it and it was nowhere to be found. So i deleted all the things i could possibly find of kazaa on my main HD and reinstalled it.

Now im having the same problem and its pissing me the hell off. I checked all my HD\'s for the files but none of them turn up. While I had Kazaa on my old HD I didnt think it would effect much and the files dont show there either.

So what im asking, is: What do you think is happening and do you know of a way to fix it. (note: This hasnt happened on any of my other computers w/ ++).

Seriously though, once any video is done i cant even play it in the kazaa player. It will show the name of the movie but it wont show the video.

Ok finally found a fix for this. Xp was shutting down the device to save power. Went in device manger/usb hub and unchecked shutting down to save power for this device.

Connection not cutting off anymore

Get Emule, remove KazaaLite

I use shareaza, though it is annoying to start a dl that\'s under 5mb and not have it finish EVER, but other than that occasionally happening it\'s decent.

WinMX is also nice

WinMX... eh. I stopped using that a long time ago. No the only problem really is that there are huge files that took a while to find that i dont feel like getting rid of on KazaaLite K++. Personally Its one of my favorites. Ive never had this problem before so its not like it has messed up horribly regularly.

What happens to the files when they finish, is that they dont convert to the type of file that they should (mp3, avi, wmv) they just stay as .Dat files. Thats my only problem.

If you have finished downloading the file and it still is .dat file then the files could be corrupted.

Especially rare and hard to find files on kazaa
