Napolean Dynomite Trailer

I\'m really looking forward to seeing this movie. A friend of mine caught the advance screening and said it was hilarious.

Has anyone else seen it yet?

yea the point of the movie is beyond me, but I think his monotone voice and the way this guy acts is great.  Got me to smile  :)

I really want to hear mm\'s opinion on this one.

EDIT:  When that guy talks about the Liger, I know for a fact it is a real animal.  When I was in 5th grade, a Liger from some near wildlife center escape and they had to keep us inside from recess and my parents wouldn\'t let me go outside along for like 3 days until it was caught.

I tried to search for this thread, and then I discovered...  You didn\'t spell EITHER of the words in the title correctly!  Dammmnnn that was frustating.  Anyway, it\'s

Napoleon Dynamite

I found the title interesting because it sort of reminds me of a Sergio Leone film; also because it makes no sense.  I saw the movie on Sunday, and I couldn\'t figure out whether or not the guy\'s name really IS Dynamite!  Does that make brother Kip Dynamite?

In any case, the film was mildly entertaining.  It was obviously mimicing the style of Wes Anderson in more ways than one, however, this film lacked the emotional core of a typical Anderson film.  There just wasn\'t much to make me like Napoleon, or anyone in his family.  The most sympathetic character for me was his girlfriend Deb, and I mostly just felt sorry for her.  Living in Preston Idaho with no prospects greater than Napoleon is a pretty worthless existence.

For the most part it\'s just absurdity on top of absurdity, with no direction or focus.  As I said, it was mildly entertaining, and occasionally funny but not very memorable.
