^^^The Mets should have been selling a week ago. There is NO reason for them to be trading their farm for more players when they are out of the race.

Plus, I want Glavine to come home to RSN. :D

After thinking about it, this can work out really good or really bad for the mets.

hopefully, these two gusy realize the potential they have on the mets. The mets can easily have the best 5-man rotation in baseball if that happens.

If not, they are in trouble long term now. Without any good pitching prospects for the next 2 years, and an aging top-3 pitchers, this could be really bad. Trachsel wasn\'t even GOOD untill last season.

Anyways, Im still picking next year for their playoff run.

I mean, they have:
Reyes - could easily bat 300
Matsui - could bat 300
Piazza - Should bat 300
Floyd - Should be somewhat productive
Hidalgo - Around 20-30 homeruns
Wright - Should bat 275 or more next season.
Cameron - Should have good SB/HR
Wilson - A 250 hitter with good defense

This just needs to work. It works on paper.

But it seems nothing EVER works for the mets, no matter how solid it looks on paper.

Every Mets person I see talk about these trades talks about how bad these trades are to begin with, then wills themself to like the trade and see how it could work. Well, when you trade your best Pitching Prospect for a guy who has done almost nothing at the pro level outside of be mediocre at best, well, it gets you thinking.

At least you didn\'t make the trade that the Dodgers did. They must\'ve REALLY saw something in Brad Penny. That trade was awful.

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

I know it is a crap ass trade, but they do have a good pitching coach and both these guys are only 29.

So I hope they really didn\'t **** up here.

The thing that pisses me off is, i don\'t even think Kazmir was involved with the Benson trade. And is Zambarano really THAT much better then Seo that your willing to trade your #1 pick from 2002?

No more Nomar.

Nomar has been traded to the cubs.

That shit is SO f*cking surreal. I don\'t know what to say.

Details are sketchy but the Sox lose Nomar and pick up Orlando Cabrera and Doug Mientkiewicz.

There were rumors that Clement and DLowe were also involved in the trade but its not looking like it.

If Theo Epstein has traded away a HOF SS with a great bat for an average SS and an average 1B without picking up any pitching then I will be very upset.

I keep loking at that picture and can\'t believe it.

I named my old dog "Nomah" for christ\'s sake. This sucks.

[EDIT] We just gave the Cubs the boost they needed for the pennant and put a damper on our own.

Wow...I come here to bitch about the Cubs losing to the Phillies after taking my 3 hour nap (Yeah, nice timing for a nap, REAL nice), then I see BS here talkin\' about Nomar being traded...

So I check out the ESPN.com front page, and there it is...Nomar\'s in a freakin\' Cubs hat! All we gave up was Alex Gonzalez, Francis Beltran, and Brendan Harris, which is an absolute bargain. I do kinda frown upon giving up Francis, but man, if you can get Nomar Garcia-freakin\'-Parra, ya gotta do it :)

Jim Hendry for President.

Yeah, f**k this trade. They get better defense, but.. ehhh..

Why in the mother f**k didn\'t Arn Tellum take the Sox\' offer for $60M/4Y..? That would have been a horrible trade for the Sox, and a great trade for the fans.. but they (Arn/Nomar) rejected it. Christwalls, that\'s annoying.

After sleeping on it a bit I see what the Sox were trying to do.  We are leading the league in most offensive categories but not winning games. I think we also lead the league in unearned runs. This trade does make the Sox more well rounded and hopefully it will work out in the end.

My main thing is giving up Nomar for so little. I thought we could at least get a #3 starter.

Maybe Nomar is more injured than the fans knew.
