Wow! Can this thing run Doom 3 with Ultra settings at 60frames per second?

I dont think the disc will help much with that. Mostly faster data reading and more space. I think... I dont know much about how it works

judging from this pic, it seem like in 2005, blu ray version 2 spec can be increase up to 4x speed.

36 x 4 = 144 Mbits or 18 Mbytes....

not sure if my assumption is correct...

about the gaming running at 60 fps and polygon counts and stuff like that were done from the cpu and gpu i believe.  Not really the speed of the disc on the data it transfer.  I think the laser pick up the data off the disc and transfer it into the RAM and then goes to CPU and GPU which does the heavy work.  How many polygon counts and the framerate rely on the speed of the CPU  believe.
