does anybody here knows a software that\'s for free that can convert WAV (PCM) files into Mp3, or WMA?

does Window Media player have this option where you can convert it?

For MP3 the Lame codec is still the best one. You need to download the codec and then use a front-end to encode with.

Codec: Lame
Front-End: EAC | RazorLame

That said, WMA is newer and will always be better than decade-old MP3. Only thing is it may not be compatible if you want to throw it into something like Nero or Premiere. Advanced WMA Workshop

The most powerful and versatile is BeSweet but it\'s far from user friendly and it\'s oogily. I only use it when converting something like AC3.

Like i said. I dont know abou WMA\'s but Yamp can encode/decode wav\'s, mp3\'s and Ogg vobis files (w/e the hell that is). Its small and converting between the two is easy.

i am just lazy to google and search for it...so i see yamp that you link too and downloaded it anyway.

And it works just fine...it can convert mp3 to wav and vice versa. cool.
