Alright - I have a regular MPEG file from my ReplayTV, what I need to do is make it a DVD. The only luck I have had so far is making it a DVD (UHF) format. Not actual DVD-Video (Format). See what I am saying? It wasn\'t a problem, as most DVD players I have noticed it fine,  but the person I burned it for didn\'t work... So , what I need is a program that takes a regular MPEG and gets it ready to be burned for DVD Video.

Dumb question, but I never screw with this stuff. The way I was doing it worked fine for me, but not other people.

hehe I wish I could be of more help but I don\'t fool with DVDs.  They use decade old mpeg-2, I prefer to encode things to either lossess, WM9, or Xvid and stream from the PC.  *turns nose up* ;)

The prgrams I hear the most about are DVDLab and TMPEnc\'s professional edition.  The speed/quality of the latter is what I hear the most of.  Maybe someone who burns DVDs can also chime in with input.

Edit- ok did some research you need two things to author a DVD:

1) An MPEG-2 encoder.  Most recommend is TMPEnc.

2) Authoring software: DVDLab or TMPEnc.
