Your post has been saved. Good job.

But seriously, I think that is a pretty good comparision. For people who have played the original game to death and loved it, like I have, there are going to be some serious disappointments. In the game, and Bungie itself. For the folks that hated, or never tried the original, they may like HALO 2 quite a bit.

In the end, it is better than the first game. Much better... But that still doesn\'t mean it\'s as good as Bungie wanted us to believe. :|

Man, I look foward to hearing the damage control on TXB and other Bungie-centric forums. I won\'t be around to see it initially(I\'ll be playing the game), but it should be entertaining.

I think the people who idolize and revere Halo as some sort of gift from the heavens will find much to be concerned about.

People say they want new stuff, new ideas and game elements, but mention that the Pistol is no longer only slightly less powerful than a cruise missile and they throw a fit.  Mention the possibility that H2 may not include all the MP maps from the original, their blood pressure soars.

There\'s no pleasing some people.

I remember going from Unreal to UT and feeling a huge letdown.  And then after three years, when I stopped plating, I realized that UT was the best FPS ever conceived (IMO and all that forum correctness crap).  Given this, I think Bozco\'s comments are valid.

Yea, I played it over xbconnect tonight and I must say it\'s growing on me.  Will I ever consider it better than the first, I guess it depends if I let it.

You do have a point though Watchdog.  Half the people I play with were really wishing for a 1.5  The same game just more levels.

As soon as leet players can no longer dominate with the same tactics as they used to, they dislike it.

Remember all the bitching that went on when Blizzard kept patching and changing Diablo2?  There were lawsuit threats and 100 page long threads about how D2 was ruined.   When the Barbarian\'s spin move no longer killed everything on the screen everyone cried bloody murder.  When the devs made it less about item running and more about D2 and parties, people starting consulting with the mob and what it would take to make a hit.  At the end of the day, it was a much better and balanced game, and people came to realize that after some more playtime.

I suspect the same is true for H2.  Come back to H1 after a month or two of H2 and see if you feel the same.  It\'ll take some time to forget H1 and just enjoy H2.  Instead of missing some things about H1, you\'ll start to wonder how you played H1 without x or y or how you never noticed z.

Or this may all be bullshit and H1 is such a masterpeice that it\'ll never be topped, who knows?  At the end of the day, it\'ll be a great game.  But with online play, clans and ladders I\'m not sure how it could possibly be less of a game.  We\'ll see.

...what?

... it\'s a valid comparison!
