Some people are just stupid. This is from the same source as the other article...and they\'re making @sses of themselve a few days later:
"Unfortunately some
very old, and
very unfounded rumors have been circulating the net and even our staff was bit by the bug. Rumors regarding IBM providing the same chipsets for the next generation Xbox as the PS3, is false and completely unfounded.
As has been reported before, Microsoft is in NEGOTIATIONS with IBM to provide chipsets for their next generation system (expectedly a PowerPC derivative, not the Cell architecture). What this will entail or whether or not Microsoft and IBM will finalize a deal have yet to be decided. These types of contracts are always negotiable until a few months before the launch of a system and in no way represent the final embodiment of the next generation Xbox.
Furthermore the IBM supplied chipsets could be used for a verity of functions which may have nothing to do with graphics processing. Logic units are utilized to provide control over memory, peripheral control, and even multi-core scheduling. These negotiations in no way represent even the hint that IBM may provide the same computational or graphics processing chipsets for both customers, that is completely asinine. Moreover the connection to Sony is like 7-degrees of Kevin Bacon to Snow White- read: bullshit. Sony has no connection to the next generation Xbox other than it is a competitor thereof. That my friends- are where the rumors end."
 Well this makes sense...but now I don\'t trust anything they say...idiots...
