Things like Windows Media Encoder can be a drag with 1gb of even high performance ram.  Throw in 2gigs and for some reason or another it runs like butter when switching menus and settings.

Try opening a 3+ gig HuffYUV file with uncompressed audio and get back to me on that. ;)

like i said, vid editing and as knot said, 3d editing are the ONLY reasons needed for anything over 1 gig..
