Fixing PS2 CD Scratches
« on: November 20, 2004, 10:06:54 AM »
Not sure how it happened, but my copy of GTASA has sustained two tiny scratches that are causing the game not to work properly. It just freezes up in the middle of some scenes, so I\'m kinda stuck in limbo.

Any products available to fix scratches in ps2 cds?

Skip Doctor, Game Doctor...they both work well. The manual version is around 30 bucks...it will fix around 30 CDs before it needs to be replaced (the rotating buffer, not the machine iteself). You have to follow the instructions EXACTLY, as you don\'t want to cause MORE damage to the disc. But it\'s worked wonders for me.

The electronic version will run you around 50-60 bucks...which is the one I have.

Well, I used the age-old toothpase method and that helped a good deal. Got it past the first part where a freeze in the game occured. But when I go to save it, it says the disc cannot be read. Guess I\'ll have to get a game doctor or something similar. Thanks for the info.

Oh yeah...you can\'t forget that part...it\'s definitely...BY FAR...the most important aspect of disc restoration...:)
